If you are an artist of any age please be inspired by the beauty of this lovely open space and submit your best work to one of the competitions and exhibitions which will take place as part of the Centenary Celebrations on May 18th & 19th 2013.
The Theme of the competition
Get out your paints, pencils, charcoal, crayons or pastels and create an image that captures
GROVELANDS PARK or THE SURROUNDING NEIGHBOURHOOD
The beauty of Grovelands Park constantly changes yet has been the same place loved by generations for 100 years. Be inspired and capture your own best view reflecting the landscape, wildlife, seasons, the people or simply your own interpretation of what makes this park so appreciated.
If you've never entered an Art Competition before this is an ideal opportunity to start.

How to enter
First for initial short list selection
2. If you have an existing image you wish to enter, scan it and email a digital image to us. If you need help with this, email us and we will do our best to help.
3. Don't forget to include your name (and your age if you are under 18).
4. Make sure you read the full terms and conditions below before you send the image in as you will be agreeing to these by entering.
5. The file name should be the artists name and image title e.g. Jo Bloggs the Park in spring. Jpg . Please include in the email details of the work i.e. the medium used and the dimensions of the actual piece.
Secondly for short listed work
Entrants with work selected for the short list and the exhibition in the park will be notified by email in advance and arrangements made in advance to hang their work for display at the weekend events in one of the Marquees.
You'll be famous for a moment as the winning images, as well as a selection of other entries, will be displayed at an Art exhibition to be held during the weekend of the Grovelands 100 Celebrations in the park over the weekend of May 18th & 19th 2013.
There are three categories, primary school pupils, Secondary school pupils and adults (over 18yrs).
Winners will each receive a voucher for £50 for Art Materials and the winner in the adult category will receive a voucher for £100 to cover art materials of their choice. (Subject to sponsorship more prizes may be allocated)
Entry is free and open to anyone and you don’t need to be a local resident to participate. Nor does it matter when you created the work.
Grovelands 100 Art Competiton Rules
Competition opens 12h00 (midday) on 1st. February 2013
Closing date 12h00 (midday) on Friday 10th May 2013
ENTRY is FREE. Entrants do not have to be local residents or indeed the United Kingdom. Entrants must agree to abide by these competition rules.
Up to five artworks can be entered.
Artwork and any digital alterations must be the entrant’s own work.
Very important: Please include the entrant’s name, date of birth, postal address and telephone number in your email.
Each entrant must submit their photo(s) in a separate email with a brief description of the work i.e. medium and dimensions
Photos should be jpeg files and the file name should be the artist’s name and image title
e.g. “Jo Bloggs the Park in spring. Jpg”
Each email must be no larger than 10mb - but multiple emails can be submitted up to the 5 photo limit
Adults (18 years or older on date of submission of entry)
Secondary school (12 years or older on date of submission or entry)
Primary school (11 years or younger on date of submission of entry)
CONSENT & COPYRIGHT
The entrant must be the sole author and owner of the copyright.
By entering your artwork into the competition, you grant to N21.net to and the ‘Grovelands 100’ organizers the non-commercial, non-exclusive right to use your images for promotion in any media, including the display of entries on the website.
The Artist will be credited whenever possible.
Entrants must not infringe the privacy rights, copyright or other rights of any person.
The competition organisers reserve the right not to accept or display entries that they consider to be inappropriate, offensive or which are in any way non-compliant with these rules.
Works will be judged by a panel of Art experts nominated by the Friends of Grovelands Park. The winner and a shortlist selection of entrants will be notified by email and their final original Artwork will be displayed at the Grovelands 100 Celebrations to take place on May 18th & 19th 2013 (details of the exhibition will be published nearer the date).
Judges may exclude entrants and withhold prizes if there has been non-compliance with any of these rules.
Judges’ decision is final, no correspondence will be entered into and prizes cannot be exchanged.
The Friends of Grovelands Park and the Grovelands 100 Art Competition Organisers are not responsible for failure of receipt, loss of or damage to any images entered into the competition.
