The N21 Festival Photographic competition in association with the Southgate Photographic Society, was sponsored by Gordon Thomas Opticians and attracted 166 entries to a very high standard. Thank-you to everyone who entered. All the photographs will shortly be viewable on the N21.net website here.

The Theme of the competition
Get out your digital camera or mobile phone and take a picture that captures " My Winchmore Hill ".
We realise the modern Winchmore Hill means different things to different people - young or old, the recently moved-in to the people that have been here all their lives, we all take a different view.
If you've never entered a photographic competition before this is an ideal opportunity to start.

The friendly amateurs that produce amazingly professional results at The Southgate Photographic Society are running the competition with us and will judge the entries.

How to enter
3. Don't forget to include your name ( and your age if you are under 18 ).
4. Make sure you read the full terms and conditions below before you send the image in as you will be agreeing to these by entering.
You'll be famous for a moment as the winning images, as well as a selection of other entries, will be displayed at a photographic exhibition to be held during the week of the N21 Festival between 16th – 23rd June 2012.
There are three categories, primary school (under 11yrs old), secondary school (12yrs old and over) and adults (over 18yrs).
Winners will each receive a mounted print of their photo, the primary school winner will receive a Treaceys Toystore voucher for £100 to spend in the shop, gratefully donated by Treacey Brennan and the winner in the adult category will receive a year’s free membership of the Southgate Photographic Society.
Entry is free and open to anyone and you don’t need to be a resident of Winchmore Hill to participate. Nor does it matter when you took the photo.

N21 Festival Photo Competition Rules
Competition opens 12h00 (midday) on 1st December 2011
Closing date 12h00 (midday) on 1st June 2012
ENTRY is FREE. Entrants do not have to be residents of Winchmore Hill or indeed the United Kingdom. Entrants must agree to abide by these competition rules.
Up to five photographs can be entered.
Photos and any digital alterations must be the entrant’s own work.
Very important: Please include the entrant’s name, date of birth, postal address and telephone number in your email.
Each entrant must submit their photo(s) in a separate email.
Photos should be jpeg files and the file name should be the photographers name and image title
e.g. “Jo Bloggs The Green in Spring.jpg”
Each email must be no larger than 10mb - but multiple emails can be submitted up to the 5 photo limit

Adults (18 years or older on date of submission of entry)
Secondary school (12 years or older on date of submission or entry)
Primary school (11 years or younger on date of submission of entry)
CONSENT & COPYRIGHT
The entrant must be the sole author and owner of the copyright.
By entering your photograph into the competition, you grant to N21.net and the N21 Festival organizers the non-commercial, non-exclusive right to use your images for promotion of the N21 Festival and the N21 Festival photo competition in any media, including the display of entries on the website of Southgate Photographic Society. The photographer will be credited whenever possible.
Entrants must not infringe the privacy rights, copyright or other rights of any person.
The competition organisers reserve the right not to accept or display entries that they consider to be inappropriate, offensive or which are in any way non-compliant with these rules.
Photographs will be judged by a panel of nominated judges from the Southgate Photographic Society.
Entries from members of the Southgate Photographic Society will not be accepted.
The winner and two runners-up will be notified by email and their photos displayed at the N21 Festival Photo Exhibition to take place in the week of 16th to 23rd June 2012 (details of the exhibition will be published nearer the date).
Judges may exclude entrants and withhold prizes if there has been non-compliance with any of these rules.
Judges’ decision is final, no correspondence will be entered into and prizes cannot be exchanged.
