N21 Festival and N21.net
How the whole thing started
Ever since reading the Henrietta Cresswell book Winchmore Hill : Memories of a lost village recently and realising the centenary of this charming book was coming up in 2012, we have wanted to do something to celebrate it's impact on the people of the local area.
If you haven't already read this book about the Winchmore Hill area before and during the coming of the railway, you can read it here on www.N21.net for free or buy the reprint of the book - available from Hunters Newsagents on The Green or from Steve in the Winchmore Hill Station coffee bar.
There is no question that it represents the local people and happenings in Winchmore Hill from the middle to the late 1800's, with some beautiful descriptions of local events and life in Winchmore Hill. Nearly all of the local Churches, Schools and pubs feature in the book and it is a unique opportunity to bring together the people of N21 in celebration. So the Winchmore Hill Festival won't just be about the book.
